Female Carer Support Worker - Rochdale

Job description

 

We are seeking a compassionate, gentle, kind, fun and dedicated female Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to our young client in his home and school settings. This position requires a strong understanding of acquired brain injury, care plans, and the ability to assist with all daily needs. The Support Worker will work closely with therapists, parents and case managers to ensure that our clients needs are met with dignity and respect.

Successful candidates will be flexible to cover a range of different shifts, will include one weekend day, working at home and school.

Duties

  • Provide full personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Assist client to access his home amenities by using manual handling equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of care plans and client progress.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to implement care plans effectively.
  • Liaise with our 8 year old client, engaging him in age appropriate activities
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss client needs and progress.
  • Household tasks including mopping, wiping of equipment and general housekeeping of clients living areas.


Experience

  • Previous experience in a domiciliary care setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to understand care plans is essential. Good written English essential.
  • A background with a relevant healthcare qualifications is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £13.00-£15.60 per hour

Expected hours: 18 – 30 per week
