Care Co-ordinator
Charlotte qualified as an Assistant Practitioner in 2016 following her inhouse training at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, before this she had started in the trust as a healthcare assistant from 2012. From there she worked in the Trauma and Orthopaedic departments at both Chorley South Ribble and Royal Preston Hospital. Her role consisted of caring for patients who had undergone a serious trauma to planned orthopaedic surgeries. Demonstrating the role of staff nurse she took her own team of patients and lead the care and planning alongside a supportive healthcare assistant; this included preparing and completing the risk assessments, care plans and documentation for all the patients she took charge off demonstrating her ability to take charge role of her own team effectively.
Charlotte gained years of experience with clinical skills such as insertion of cannulas, catheters and nasal gastric tubes. She also has 11 years of venepuncture experience. Charlotte followed the React to Red role also and worked along side the Tissue Viability Nurses for many years and gained excellent wound care skills. She also had to deliver and follow blood transfusion processes regular for patients requiring the needs.
Within her period as an Assistant Practitioner, she also took her cascade trainer training to enable her to train new staff and previous staff in moving and handling, basic life support and ANTT to ensure the staff were all up to date with their training and knowledge and safe to carry out these needs within their workplace.
Charlotte then followed the Champions route within the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Foundations to make her the ward lead champion in Learning difficulties so she could carry out the care and needs for the patients who came in for surgery/had a trauma, so they had their own lead nurse to follow and ensure their care was to their needs.
For the last 2 years Charlotte has also run successfully her own equestrian photography company, enhanced by her personal life plan of having her own horses and competed with her own horses. Here she has excelled in her photoshop skills and ensuring she captures the right moments. As the sole director she has managed both the clinical and financial elements of the business, further improving her skills in organisation and communication.
